After more than three decades of service, Fernway Elementary School Principal Christopher Hayward has announced his retirement, effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year.
New Ohio law requires students to be 5 years old on or before the first day of school to be eligible for kindergarten. The District's first day for the 2026-2027 school year is August 18, 2026.
The Shaker Heights Board of Education has approved revisions to the 2026-2027 academic calendar. The District has also released the staggered start schedule for the next school year.
With winter weather coming soon, we wanted to remind you of the Shaker Heights City School District’s school closing, early dismissal and delayed opening communications and procedures.
